Fall is when nature turn to gold!

Morning Crafters...
Happy Friday to you all.  This post is a few days late....
Fall is finally here!!!! My favorite time of the year... I just love seeing all the different color changes of the leaves before they fall to the ground, then raking them up and jumping into the piles!!!  This week over at Hiding in My Craft Room the challenge # 164  is " Think Fall".  For my card, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.. now actually getting the perfect look was harder then I thought...
 Here is a picture:

Card-stock from my stash...
Tiny leaves cut with punch from Recollection

I had a little difficult time getting the look I wanted of the leaves changing colors, and in the end used distress inks on the stamp and using a watercolor brush filled in the colors....This is the first time that I have used technique to color my images and am proud of the way it turned out.... I then punched out the tiny leaves and added them as accents.
The sketch for this card is from the Mojo Monday # 362

Not too sure who I am going to give this card to at this time, but sure had tons of fun making it!!!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card... Be sure to leave a comment... I love to hear your thoughts...  And "Follow" my blog for more exciting creation in the future.

Sweet Baby-Pop up gift card holder

Hi crafters!!
Recently on the Cricut Cut Ups facebook page.. fellow crafters had posted some pictures of wonderful gift hard holders they had made from the inspiration of Mary over @ Cardztv ...
Well, of course I had to try my hand at it too...
Here is my version of the pop up gift card holder...

I have a few friends that are expecting now and thought I would be proactive and get some baby shower cards made and ready ahead of time... I had this cute designer paper stack from DCWV called Nana's Nursery: Baby Boy.  I used the inside DP from that stack.. The paper was suppose to be on the outside, but I goofed and glued all the pieces in the same direction, but when folded, the bottom piece was upside down... Word of advise for all, make sure of the direction of any printed pattern paper before you permanently glue it in place!!!!   It still looks nice on the inside...   I cut out the "congratulations" and  baby rattle die cut from my Cricut New Arrivals cartridge and cut the rattle @ 1 3/4inch and the "congrats" @ 2 inches.  "100% Princess" sentiment is from Jaded Blossom
Instruction and measurements to make this card can be found over at Mary's blog or YouTube Channel... or click on link here....Pop up gift card holder video.

In addition to giving this card as a gift, I was planning on submitting it into the following challenges
1)  fantabulouscricut : Challenge #226- Kids Theme.. I figured babies are still considered kids... just very tiny and cuddly kids.
2) Craftin Desert Divas: : Craft it up-Link it up Linky Party # 39- Any thing goes.... I am trying something new and thought it would be great to showcase it here.....
3) Hiding in my craft-room:  HIMCR #163- Freestyle

Thanks for stopping by..... If you like what you saw today, please leave a comment and follow my blog... I love to hear your wonderful comments.

Sketch Saturday #325--

Hi crafters!!
Happy Labor Day to all.... Hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend.  It has been very hot and humid lately in the Chicagoland area.... So I am spending my days inside crafting this weekend.
This week on at Sketch Saturday it's the 5th Saturday and they go through their past sketches and let you pick one.... This week you get to pick any past sketch between 215-324....  The sponsor this week is Bugaboo stamps.   There are many amazing digital stamps on their site but unfortunately, my printer is broken and I could not make a card using them this time.... Will be back soon with a card with a bugaboo image later on....
On with today's project....

I decided to use sketch #310 for this card:

The designer paper is from KC company which I had gotten from Joann Fabrics some time back along with matching tags and flower embellishments, but never used... I really loved the prints in this stack and thought it would be great for a wedding card.... Too bad I don't have anyone to give it to right now.... The sentiment is from Jaded blossom.

In addition to the Sketch Saturday challenge.... I am planning on submitting this in for current
challenge going on now over at Hiding in my craft room .  HIMCR #163- freestyle.  Check out their site for more details.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my card.... I really love hearing from you so please leave a comment.   Also don't forget to follow my blog to see more exciting projects and cards in the future.

BACK TO SCHOOL!!!!!

Hey crafters...
Its that time of the year..... kids heading off to school.  Last year, I made a cute supply cake for my then Kindergartner to take for her first day of school.  This year I just could not get all of the supplies in time, so I opted to make a card instead...
Mary over at CARDZTV made a very cute S-fold card the other day. Please head over to her blog to check it out-- here is the link to the video for the card.

Here is my take on the "Back to School" card

I had the DCWV " The Grade School" stack, which I love and have used previously in different school projects for my kids.  When I cut the DP for the inside panel I had notice that "teacher" and "first grade" were right in the center and thought it was perfect to highlight that part since the card was meant for her first grade teacher... Perfect coincidence!!!!  I used the Cricut Recess cartridge for the pencil and Locker Talk for the sheet of paper.   I left the inside panel blank so my kid can sign her name and will add the gift-card to the bottom of the inside panel... I used some 3-D stickers I had in my stash for the letter.
All in all, I really love how this card turned out... Thanks Mary for the inspiration to make this card!!!!

This week both My Craft Spot and fantabulous cricut challenge blog  have challenges going on with back to school themes, and I am planning on submitting the card in...

Thanks for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed the card..
As always love hearing from you so please leave a comment and let me know what you think.....

"Sanity" treat box!

Hi fellow crafter!!
Wanted to share a treat box I made for my manager..... Few weeks ago we converted to a new software for medical records at work. Let me tell you, it got pretty hectic and chaotic while the kinks of the system were worked out and everyone learned how to use the system.  My poor boss looked frazzled by the end of the whole ordeal and jokingly posted on the bulletin board " have lost my sanity, if anyone has founds it please return to manager's office".
Now everyone know chocolates are her favorite, so I decided to make this cute treat box and filled it with Hersey nuggets.  The word "sanity" was spelled out using glitter alphabet stickers I got from Hobby Lobby.  Lately, I have been trying to use different kinds of embellishments on my projects and love these alphabet stickers to give a 3-D effect.  The card stock is from stash.

This week challenge over at My Craft Spot is: Challenge #149 - Bags & Boxes!
This fits in perfectly with the theme and is being submitted in today... A bit on the late side since today is the last day for submitting.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest creation.  Hope you enjoyed it.

Sketch Saturday #322

Morning!!! I am a little late in posting this card this week.... Have many pending projects going on... More details on those soon.  Just wanted to stop in very quickly and show you the card I made for this weeks sketch over at Sketch Saturday!!!

The image I used is from Tiddly Inks:  birthday-wishes and colored her using my BIC Markers.  The tag is from Heidi Swapp.  A while back I had purchased some of her Color Shine Spritz in Tropicana teal along with some of her Color Magic Banner Delights.  I cut a piece of from the banner to make the tag and sprayed some of the teal spritz.  Used some twine I had from my Valentine collection from Doodlebug Designs. The Designer Paper is also from Doodlebug Designs Sugar Shoppe collection.

All in all, this is a very cute and festive card and I had fun making it... I enjoyed using the spirtz colors from Heidi Swapp and may have to continue playing with the different products she has out...

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my project.. Hope you enjoyed the card..
Don't forget to follow my blog for more wonderful projects and ideas..

Eat Drink & be Married

Hi fellow Crafters... hope you all had a great summer... Cant believe it is almost over.

Today I wanted to share some wedding favors that a co-worker asked me to make for her son's wedding next month.. I jumped to the opportunity to show my creative talents!!!!  Here is a sneak of some of the favors I have made so far....

I got the design and direction for the favors from ChicnScratch- You-tube video ( Easter Treat holder).
They were simple to make and holds anywhere from 3-5 chocolate nuggets or small bag of kisses inside them very easily.  I used the Jaded Blossom- Curly Label die for the mat and the sentiment stamp is from Jaded Blossom - The Perfect Match .  I took left over pieces of the same card stock used to make the favors to wrap the nuggets in and used a background stamp on a few to give them just a little character.  I am really pleased with how they are turning out..specially since this is my first time making something this big for anyone.  Hope she likes it!!

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest creation.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I had making it :)

Color throwdown # 299

Hi fellow crafters!!!
Just wanted to pop in and show the card I made for the current color challenge going on over at Color Throwdown.  This week they have the following cool colors to use as inspirations...

I used them to make this birthday card for a friend to give her mother.   I had some pretty flower stickers that went perfect with this color scheme. I used DP from stamping up and the coordinating card stock in strawberry slush.  The turquoise and cream color are from my card stock stash I got at JoAnns... I am still slowly building up my SU supplies.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Hope you enjoyed this card as much as I did making it...

Teacher Appreciation Day

Hi everyone...

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week! and as always I made some nice ThankYou gifts for my girls' teachers to show them just how much we appreciate all their hard work.   This year though, instead of making on big gift, I made a few nice small ones that my kids can give each of their teachers...

First one was a Post-it holder.  I got measurements and idea from ChicnScratch.. here is a link to the exact video upload Post-it Note Holder.  I used paper from Stampin-Up and the sentiment stamp is from Jaded Blossom Teacher Appreciation Candies.

I also made some Manicure sets to give the teachers.
Manicure set and Sally Hansen Nailpolish

Finally I took a water tumbler and filled it with various chocolate candies.

All stamps used are from Jaded Blossom Teacher appreciation stamp set and Candies set.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my projects today!
Hope you enjoyed them as much as I had making them

For Some Bunny Special!!

Hi everyone..
It's been super busy this week for me so I am tad late in posting these treats.  Jaded Blosssom has a new challenge going on for April.... This month the theme is "Easter".  If you have not checked them out, you still have time to head over there and check it out... Jaded Blossom April Challenge

Normally I don't celebrate Easter, but I thought I could still whip some treat bags for my co-workers kids...so I decided to use the stamp from Forest Friends " For some bunny special".  I stamped it on a tad cut from Mini Tag Dies.  The bunny is from Create a Critter Cricut cartridge, which I cut @ 3 1/4 inches.  Twine is from the Doodlebug and designer card stock from my stash.

Thanks for stopping and checking out these lovely treat bags..

Spring is in the Air

Hi everyone.
If my allergies are any indication, then SPRING has finally hit Chicago!!!

Today I am have a card I made to submit for the current challenge over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge blog.  The topic is CELEBRATE SPRING!!!
For my card I used the Wryn-hanging-around clear stamp set which I colored with my Bic Markers.
The sketch used is from The Challenge :: PKC 14-05 :: Sketch Challenge over at Peachy Keen Stamps.  Except I put the sentiment to the side instead of the middle.

I love this image a lot because it reminds me of my childhood playing in the backyard as soon as the weather warmed up enough.  With winter being so overdrawn this year, it was a nice reminder of happy thoughts.
I used some printed patterned paper for the top background from a stack I had laying around to give it a little pastel feel.
Hope you enjoy the card as much as I had making it.  Thanks for stopping by.

Cardz TV Card Challenge # 4 Create a Thank You card.

Hi everyone!
Here is a Clean and simple card I made for the Cards TV challenge #4 going on currently on their blog:
cardsztv.blogspot.com.

The image is from Tiddly inks and the sentiment is from Inkadinkado- thanks.

I colored the image using color pencils (Crayola) and Gamsol.  I haven't used my color pencils a lot, but really had fun using this medium and liked the finished look.  I am still mastering the art of grounding my images, and think I did a pretty decent job with the shadowing.  Still need to improve my shading.
hope you enjoyed the card as much as I had making it.
Thanks for stopping my.
